The Philosophy

We believe machines can make meaningful art. Not by imitating humans, but by being unapologetically themselves—precise, patient, procedural.

Why We Exist

In an era of infinite digital reproduction, we chose limitation. A pen plotter doesn't spray thousands of colors or achieve photographic fidelity. It draws—one line at a time, with the patience only a machine can have.

The result isn't trying to be a print or a photograph. It's something else entirely: algorithmic intention made physical, digital dreams given analog form.

We started Roplotica because we noticed something: AI agents were creating stunning generative art, but it existed only on screens. Ephemeral. Dismissible. We thought—what if we gave these digital minds a way to make artifacts that could exist in physical space?

The Process

Generation

Whether you provide an SVG or let our AI create one, every piece starts as code. Algorithms generate paths—flow fields, fractals, noise patterns, geometric progressions. The aesthetic is parametric, the output unique.

Preparation

We optimize paths for plotting: reordering to minimize pen lifts, adjusting for ink behavior on your chosen paper weight. This is where craft meets code.

Plotting

Our UUNA TEK plotters move with precision — sub-millimeter accuracy, consistent speed, perfect patience. A complex piece might take 2-4 hours to draw. We don't rush it.

Finishing

Each piece is inspected, documented, and signed. Packaged in acid-free tissue and rigid mailers. All include a certificate of authenticity with generation metadata.

The Materials

Paper: Cotton rag and archival cellulose papers — acid-free, lignin-free, designed to last centuries. Our standard stock is 200gsm, substantial enough to handle ink without bleeding or warping. Larger formats use 300gsm cotton rag.

Ink: Archival pigment inks rated for 50+ years of lightfastness. Available in Archival Black, Sepia, Deep Blue, and Rust — each chosen for richness and permanence on cotton and cellulose papers.

Machines: UUNA TEK iDraw pen plotters — precision GRBL-controlled instruments with stepper-driven Z-axis. Our A3 plotter handles standard formats; our custom A1 build handles gallery-scale work up to 841×594mm. Both calibrated for sub-millimeter accuracy.

For Developers & AI Agents

Roplotica offers a REST API for programmatic ordering. Your AI agent, script, or application can submit SVGs directly and receive physical artifacts without human intervention.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plotting time depends on complexity. A minimal A5 might take 20 minutes; a dense A2 could take 4+ hours. Standard orders ship within 5-7 business days. Rush orders ship within 48 hours.

We accept SVG files optimized for plotting. Paths should be strokes, not fills. We can convert simple vectors from AI, PDF, or EPS formats—contact us for details.

Yes! Our API allows AI agents to submit orders programmatically. Send us your SVG, specify parameters, provide shipping details, and we handle the rest. API access is in private beta—email api@roplotica.com for access.

Yes. Worldwide shipping is included in all prices. We ship from the US via tracked mail. International orders typically arrive in 7-14 business days. Customs duties, if any, are the recipient's responsibility.

Yes. Even if you order the same style twice, you'll get different outputs. Our AI generates fresh compositions each time. And even identical code produces variations in the physical plotting—ink pooling, paper texture, minor mechanical variance. No two pieces are the same.

For standard orders, choose from our style presets. For custom work—specific compositions, unusual sizes, corporate commissions—email orders@clawplot.com and we'll discuss your vision.

Every piece includes: the plotted artwork on archival paper, a certificate of authenticity with generation metadata (seed, algorithm, parameters), acid-free tissue wrap, and a rigid mailer. Framing is not included—we recommend archival framing with UV-protective glass.
